Tom Magner, a tennis pro at Jefferson Lakeside Country Club, is a Florida native and has been playing tennis for most of his life. He played in the junior tournaments and was ranked #13 in the nation. For the 35 & over tournament, he was ranked #11 in the nation. Tom graduated from Middle Tennessee State University on a full tennis scholarship. He played #1 singles during his entire college career. After graduating, Tom moved to Richmond, Virginia as a USPTA certified teaching professional. Gaining many credentials while living in Richmond, he currently holds a 3 time City of Richmond Men’s Open City Championship record. From 1978 to 1987, Tom was the head tennis director and pro at Raintree Racket Club. He began his journey at Jefferson Lakeside Country Club on April 1st, 1987 and has been with the company ever since. His main duties include running USTA adult & junior teams and leagues. Tom also organizes tournaments, tennis camps, socials and round robins. He attends all ladder matches and club tennis events. Jefferson Lakeside Country Club also offers individual private and group lessons for both adults and juniors. Lastly, Tom helps monitor the pro shop services — restringing balls, wristbands, sox, etc. while taking special orders for apparel and equipment. Demo rackets are available for use during matches.
